"In the 30-day training, nearly 100 ophthalmologists from 6 countries, including Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, South Africa, Malawi and Botswana, completed 44 sessions of training.
During the training, He Eye Specialist Hospital thoroughly considered the national conditions of developing countries and taught innovative technologies with solid application and treatment concepts suitable for developing countries. In addition, twenty-eight experts and scholars conducted online lectures for the participants on topics such as the current situation of global eye health development and future development trend and the prospect of ophthalmology, the unique Chinese eye health service model and new advances in ophthalmology, ophthalmology subspecialty theory, cataract surgery operation, etc. The lectures were followed by online courses, seminars and remote observation of surgery.

Besides professional knowledge, the training also offered a special cultural exchange class - "Cloud Visit China - Visual Tour", live ophthalmologists from the perspective of visual science interpretation of Chinese architecture and city views so that ophthalmologists from countries along the Belt and Road were able to experience the charm of Chinese culture and optical science.
