The V2020 Western Pacific Regional Coordinator attended World Sight Day Activities in Shenyang, China
On October 21, 2007, Dr Richard Le Mesurier, the V2020 Western Pacific Regional Coordinator and his assistant Ms. Ding Yutong arrived in Shenyang attending World Sight Day Activities. The activities duration was October 21-24.
In the morning of October 22, Dr. Richard and Ms. Ding Yutong together with the related people from He Eye Hospital and Shenyang Chamber of Commerce participated the camp of the "Cataract Surgery Program for 1000 Patients" which jointly launched by Shenyang Chamber of Commerce and He Eye?Hospital.?In the afternoon, they were received by mayor of Shenyang City and then interviewed by Shenyang TV Station.
In the morning of October 23, Dr. Richard attended the Signing Ceremony of Liaoning Province V2020 Commitment. To sign this commitment, it can make more people focus on the elimination of avoidable blindness within Liaoning province. Dr. Richard, officials from Liaoning Health Bureau and Dr. He Wei, founder chairman of He Eye Hospital, all signed their names in Liaoning Province V2020 Commitment to support the Global Declaration - VISION 2020: THE RIGHT TO SIGHT.
The VISION 2020 Liaoning Provincial Blindness Prevention Workshop was held in Shenyang in March, 2006. And Liaoning Provincial Blindness Prevention Plan for the 2006-2010 was finalized in August, 2006.
