
Before Shenyang Lions Club established:
Cooperation with Lions Clubs International
1. He Eye Hospital was appointed to be Liaoning Training Base for “Sight First, China Action Project in year 2004.
2. In 1998, Shenyang He Eye Hospital was awarded “Community Center for Blindness Prevention” by Fukuoka Mazuru Lions Club, Japan.
3. June 28, 2002, Dalian He Eye Hospital was awarded “Community Center for Blindness Prevention” by East Kowloon Lions Club, Hong Kong








After Shenyang Lions Club established:
1. February 26, 2006, Shenyang Lions Club was set up and Dr. He Wei was appointed to be the Charter Chairman.

2. May 21, 2006, Shenyang Lions Club successfully held the first monthly meeting..

3. September 4, 2006, two guiding lions from Lions Club International Japan 337-A district came to Shenyang, providing training for the key members of Shenyang Lions Club.

4. September 28, 2006, Charter Night of Shenyang Lions Club was successfully organized in Shenyang. Representatives from China Disabled Persons’ Federation, Liaoning Provincial Government, Lions Club International Japan 337-A district, Hong Kong East Kowloon Lions Club, Dalian Lions Club, Shenzhen Lions Club and key leaders from Liaoning Disabled Persons’ Federation, over 60 participants in total, were participated the ceremony.


5. June 7-8, 2008, The Third National General Assembly of China Council of Lions Club was held in Beijing, over 100 representatives from Bejing, Shenzhen, Shenyang, Dalian & Qingdao attended the meeting. Dr. He Wei, Founder Chairman of Shenyang Lions Club, was elected the member of the Third Trustee Council, China Council of Lions Clubs. Meanwhile, Mr. Wang Wenxuan was awarded “Best Member”.


Service Projects by Shenyang Lions Club:
1. August 23, 2006, sixteen members of Shenyang Lions Club came to Shenyang Children's Welfare Institution. To meet the children’s daily life, the lions members donated a lot of daily necessities including garments, recorders, bathtubs, tubs, etc. The total value of the donated items were over 10,000yuan.

2. To respond the “Sight First, China Action” by Lions Club International & China Disabled Persons’ Federation, on November, 4th, 2006, sponsored by Shenyang Lions Club, He Eye Hospital organized a 6 members’ medical team to Qinghe district, Tieling city, providing free eye disease screening for local people. Over 150 people were examined within half a day, among which, 15 patients were advised to go to He Eye Hospital for low-pay surgeries.


3. April 26, 2007, co-sponsored by Shenyang Hope Project Office, Shenyang Lions Club came to Niuxintuo Primary School, Liaozhong County, donated over 1,000 books and established a “Hope Library” for the children.


4. In order to strengthen the clinical capacity of Pyongyang Lions Eye Hospital in North Korea to better serve the local patients, He Eye Hospital provided surgical training for 5 surgeons from Pyongyang Lions Eye Hospital in June 2007. This training program was jointly organized by Korea Lions State Council and China Council of Lions Clubs. The trainees were supported by Korea Lions State Council. He Eye Hospital was appointed to provide clinical training for the 5 trainees during the period of June 13- September 25, 2007.


5. September 23, 2007, before the Mid-autumn festival, members of Shenyang Lions Club brought moon cakes, grapes, etc, came to Guanghui Township Beadhouse, Yuhong district, Shenyang city, conveyed best wishes to the elderly people.

6. November 26, 2007, sponsored by Shenyang Lions Club, low vision specialists from He Eye Hospital came to Liaoning Provincial Disabled Person Mid-level Vocational Technical School, providing vision check and refraction services for the vision impaired students. Over 30 students got comprehensive examinations, they all received canes which donated by He Eye Hospital.


7. May 21, 2008, president He Wei lead the Mobile Eye Hospital which was jointly contributed by Liaoning Communist Youth League, Love of Light Foundation and He Eye Hospital to provided eye care emergency services in the worst-hit areas in Sichuan. The eye care emergency services include: Ocular trauma treatment, Eye diseases prevention- medicine delivery, Screening for eye diseases, Eye care awareness promotion & Optometry- Refraction and spectacles delivery. Rescue goods and materials were raised over 20,000yuan in total value by the other members of Shenyang Lions Club within half a day which were together brought to Sichuan.


8. February 8, 2009, members of Shenyang Lions Club came to Guanghui Township Beadhouse, Yuhong district, Shenyang city again. Over 20 middle school students were involved in, they presented greetings cards which were made by themselves and provided voluntary services (such as cleaning room, washing clothes, etc.) to the elderly people there. The students also performed a number of programs, singing and dancing for celebrating the coming Lantern Festival.
