China Eye Industry on the basis of He College put into use in July
This year in July, China's first industry base feathered by eye industry will be officially completed and put into use in Sishui Technology Town of Qipanshan Development Zone. The base, relying on He College and Green Valley Biotech Industry Co., Ltd. is an international biomedical research and development platform for advanced technology, integrating production, study and research, with the focus of project on bio-related industry, ophthalmic equipment and consumables, and visual-related industry.
According to Mr. Zhao Guohua, Executive Vice-president of He College, and Deputy General Manager of Green Valley Biotech Industry Co., Ltd., the eye industry base is proceeding smoothly; 8 main buildings with 15,000 square meters in the first phase, will be ready in two months.
The eye industry base is consisted of a core area and an expansion area. The core area serves as biomedical public service platform including eye medicine and eye industry, and the extension area is focused on ophthalmic biomedical area and ophthalmic medical device area. The biomedical public service platform area is divided into public laboratory center and R&D lab test center, production of eye medicine and preparation, bio-genetic engineering, ophthalmic medical device and packing, and integrated support services, with the build-up of over 10 enterprises covering ophthalmic biopharmacy, modern Chinese medicine, medical equipment, Chinese medicinal decoction pieces, etc, setting up Green Valley Biotech Industry Co., Ltd., BAIAO Biotechnology Limited, and other industry support platforms, with 5 R&D Centers(Technology Centers) including Shenyang Eye Medicine Research Center, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Center of Technological Outcome Transformation, State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Sun Yat-sen University , Joint Laboratory of Genetic Testing, Beijing Genomics Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences and etc, with more than 20 patents for various types of bio-medical products. Now it has basically developed into a comparatively complete industrial development system, ranging from research and development, incubation and innovation, venture capital to industrialization.
According to the plan, the ophthalmic biomedical area is located in the central southwest of research and development zone of Sishui Technology Town, with the built-up of a group of small and medium ophthalmic bio-pharmaceutical enterprises, colleges and research institutions, like He College of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Shenyang Eye Medicine Research Center, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. Now it has basically developed into a pharmaceutical industry chain, ranging from research and development, incubation and innovation to production, management and technical services of biological products.
